Beginnings
A Humble Start
The long journey for a couple of immigrants from Mexico led them to an opportunity to be able to grow their own berries. Founders Luis Ortiz and his wife Domitilia Ortiz faced lots of uncertainty and doubt due to a lack of resources but the support from family and friends kickstarted the success of the company. Over the years along with lots of trial and error, their risk was starting to pay off. Along with the growing success of the company, the children of Luis and Domitilia grew as well. Helping their parents around the farm since childhood, the farming life was nothing new to them. Over time as Luis and Domitilia grew older, they offered their only son Luis Ortiz Jr. the opportunity to keep the company and continue to make it thrive. Having lots of knowledge already, Luis Ortiz Jr. gladly accepted the offer and has been the owner since 2015.
Present Day
A Fruitful Future
Today Ortiz Jr. Farms grows a wide variety of berries. We grow raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, blueberries and the famous golden berry. We sell our berries at various farmers markets around the bay area for others to enjoy. We also sell to restaurants, bakeries, ice cream shops and many other businesses. Working and connecting with others is what brings us joy. As we head further into the future of the company, we hope to continue to grow our delicious berries while also giving new and existing customers the chance to appreciate our harvest as well.
